High above the quiet world… far beyond the trees and hills… the Wind and the Sun were talking.
The Wind moved swiftly, whirling and rushing wherever he pleased.
The Sun, meanwhile, shone softly, spreading warmth and golden light across the land.
One day, the Wind said proudly, "I am the strongest of us all."
The Sun smiled, calm and bright. "Are you?" she asked gently.
"Yes," said the Wind, swirling a little faster. "I can move anything I wish. I can bend trees… ripple the rivers… and sweep across the fields."
The Sun watched quietly.
Below them, a traveler walked along a winding road. He wore a warm cloak, wrapped closely around his shoulders.
The Sun had an idea. "Let us see," she said, "which of us is truly stronger."
The Wind paused. "What do you suggest?"
"Whoever can make that traveler remove his cloak," said the Sun softly, "will be the strongest."
The Wind laughed. "That will be easy," he said.
And so, the Sun slipped behind a gentle cloud… and the Wind began.
At first, the Wind blew lightly. A soft breeze drifted across the road… brushing the traveler's face… tugging gently at his cloak.
The traveler paused for a moment. Then, he pulled his cloak a little tighter.
The Wind grew stronger. He rushed through the trees… whistled through the branches… and pushed harder against the traveler.
The trees bent gently… the grass swayed back and forth… and the traveler lowered his head against the breeze.
The cloak fluttered and flapped. But the traveler only held it closer.
"Hmm," said the Wind. And he blew harder still.
Now the air roared. Leaves swirled in circles… dust danced along the path… and the Wind pushed with all his might.
But the stronger the Wind blew… the tighter the traveler wrapped his cloak around himself.
At last, the Wind grew tired. He slowed… and softened… and finally stopped. "I do not understand," he said quietly. "I used all my strength."
The Sun peeked out from behind the clouds. "Now it is my turn," she said.
Gently… slowly… the Sun began to shine. Her light spread across the road. Soft warmth touched the traveler's face. The air grew calm. The trees stood still. Everything felt peaceful and quiet.
The traveler sighed. He looked up at the sky. The warmth grew a little stronger… not too hot… just enough.
And soon, the traveler loosened his cloak. He walked a few more steps… and then, smiling softly… he removed it completely.
The Sun continued to shine, warm and steady. High above, the Wind watched in silence. At last, he spoke. "You are stronger than I am," he said.
The Sun's light remained gentle. "Not stronger," she replied. "Just… kinder."
The Wind grew still. And for a moment… he felt something new.
Far below, the traveler continued on his way… light and comfortable in the warm, peaceful day.
And high above… the Wind and the Sun drifted quietly together… sharing the sky.
Sometimes… We can do more with gentleness than with force.
And now… it's time to rest. Let everything grow calm… and let sleep come softly. Goodnight.
